Staff Selection Commission through SSC CGL Exam recruits staff for various posts in the various ministries and departments of the government of India and in subordinate offices. It is a national-level exam that is conducted every year for recruitment to Group B and Group C posts in government departments. The basic pay of the recruited staff ranges from Pay level-4 25500/- to Pay level-8 47600/- as per 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix i.e. for the lowest post Basic Pay is 25500/- and for the highest post the Basic Pay is 47600/-. If you are new to the Government Sector, you should not confuse basic pay with in-hand salary as in-hand salary is much higher than basic pay as in-hand salary is calculated after adding Dearness Allowances, House Rent Allowances, Transport Allowances etc.
