CGL :: Exam Pattern

CGL Tier-1 Pattern

SSC CGL 2022 Tier-1 exam will be conducted in the month of December 2022 in online mode comprising 100 objective type, multiple choice questions from 4 sections as illustrated below:

CGL Tier-2 Pattern

Candidates qualifiying in Tier-1 exams are eligible to appear in SSC CGL Tier-2 exam. Tier-2 exam will include conducting of Paper-1, Paper-2 and Paper-3 in separate shift(s)/ day(s) of which Paper-1 is compulsory for all posts, Paper-2 will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) in the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation and Paper-3 will be for only those candidates who apply for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer.

Merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-II Examination only.

There will be negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I and each Question carries 3 marks
Note:
  • It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify all the sections of Paper-I; hence sectional cut-off is there.
  • Based on the aggregate performance in Section-I and Section-II of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination, candidates will be shortlisted for evaluation of Section-III of Paper-I of Tier-II Examination.

  • Paper:2 (only for the post of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO))

    Mode of Selection

    Tier-II Examination will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I. In Paper-I of Tier-II, it will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify all the sections. The Merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-II Examination only. Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I & Tier II and %age of errors allowed is as below.
